On February 9, 2021, the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute invited me to give a presentation about Showpiece City. Assistant professor and writer Deepak Unnikrishnan kindly made the opening remarks and facilitated the discussion after.
The focus was on the year 1960, when so many explicit acts of modernization commenced but also when Dubai was already a modern city.
